Planning your Bus Trip

In order to effectively plan your trip, you will need to identify which bus route(s) serves both your origin and your destination. You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to view the Fixed Route Map/Schedule and the related Fixed Route Street Index on this site. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, download it now - at no cost! Please note: you will need to use your magnifying glass tool in order to zoom in and view the PDFs clearly.

The B-NPTS Fixed Route Map/Schedule displays the areas and streets served by all ten (10) fixed routes. After you have identified the correct route for your trip by noting which colored line serves your origin and destination, match the color designated schedule information box (on the Fixed Route Map/Schedule) with the color of the route you will need to use for your trip. If you have difficulty distinguishing colors, please note that the lines are also distinguished by a letter designation.

The schedule information boxes have three separate column headings: "Leaves", "At" and "Heading To". Under the column heading "Leaves", several locations at which the bus stops along the route are listed. To the right of each listing (under the column heading "At") is the time (in minutes after the hour) that the bus is scheduled to pass the particular bus stop when it is traveling in the direction indicated under the "Heading To" column heading. If the point at which you plan to board the bus is not listed under the column heading "Leaves" you may estimate the time that the bus will be passing that point by noting the time to the right of the listed bus stop that immediately precedes your boarding point.

You do not need to be at a point where a bus stop sign is located in order to board a bus. The bus driver will stop and allow you to board the bus at any corner where it is safe to stop. If the driver cannot stop at the point you wish to board, he or she will stop at the nearest possible location where it is safe to make the stop.

The lower portion of each schedule information box contains a 'Weekday Schedule" and a "Saturday Schedule". These schedules list the times that the first and last bus of the day leave the locations indicated.
