Lime (I) Route

As an outgrowth of the recommendations contained in the Transportation Study, the Board of Trustees of the Bloomington-Normal Public Transit System has taken the following actions:

  • Approved a new route addition to the existing fixed route system. This new western route, the Lime (I), links downtown Bloomington and downtown Normal with Wylie Drive. The Lime (I) began service to the community on May 1, 2003. (See the new Fixed Route Map/Schedule for details.)
  • Gave conceptual approval to the extension of service into the evening hours. Specifics of this service extension are under development for implementation in August of 2003. Check back for details of the future evening service offering.

Other aspects of the recently completed Transportation Study require major capital and operating financial commitments. These other aspects are currently under review and will be addressed at a later date. We appreciate your patience as we work to further improve your local transportation system.
