Student/Child Fare Discount Elimination

Bloomington-Normal Public Transit System is eliminating the student/child fare discount effective July 1, 2004. The Transit system currently offers a discounted Student/Child fare of 25 cents for students, grades 1 through 12. This discounted fare is one-half the regular full fare of 50 cents. Under the new fare structure, students and children grades 1 and above will be required to pay the full fare effective July 1, 2004 when riding the bus. Preschool children will continue to ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying rider. Student tokens will be reimbursed at the Transit System offices through June 30, 2004, after which time they will no longer be accepted as fare payment or be reimbursed.
